This reminds me of the stories my grandma tells while cooking. It is wonderful to hear people tell stories of their lives — it gives you a better idea what it takes to survive for so many years through all the hardships.
This looks like a tasty recipe. I’ll be sure to make it soon.
Thank you for the video. I enjoyed it, thoroughly.

Indeed. She started cooking the onions and potato, and I could literally smell it, sitting before my PC. Made me quite hungry.
Thank you, Mrs Clara! My grandparents and great grandparents lived through the Depression and War. I’m sure they’d be more than familiar with these recipes, were they still with us.
Much love!

My mom grew up during the Depression, and she learned many of Clara’s recipes from her own mother. Still today, I will often make pasta with peas, pasta with beans, and other economical dishes that are nutritious and low in fat. I have little trouble maintaining a healthy weight, and my cholesterol and glucose numbers are so good that my doctor said he wants to bottle them and sell them! Here’s to simple eating!

For some reason this video left me speechless, actually. Something about this video made me feel at ease… About the reciepe, i always thought we had to bake the pastas individually, but now i’ll try your reciepe. God bless you and your mother, and all the people from back then.
